Victim suffered suspected broken hip in a fall below Golden Cap near Charmouth
An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital after falling and suffering a suspected broken hip beneath Golden Cap, near Charmouth, on Friday afternoon (June 13).
Two Lyme Regis lifeboat crew members waded ashore to help the 77-year-old victim on the beach west of Golden Cap.
She was assisted by RNLI crew members Dan Currall and Dave Bisson before the coastguard helicopter arrived to winch her to safety and take her to hospital in Dorchester.
The lifeboat was launched at 2.08pm and returned to Lyme Regis harbour at 2.55pm.
