Five people are standing for the Tiverton and Honiton constituency in the General Election on Thursday, May 7...

Graham Smith (UKIP) lives in Honiton where he runs a property maintenance business and helps out with Hospiscare.

He has two grown-up children from his first marriage and an 18-year-old stepson.

“We should feel privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the country, a part of the world I feel we have a duty to protect for future generations to enjoy,” he said.

“Locally, I will oppose excessive building developments on greenfield sites, fight against the closure of our hospital beds and day centres, and push for better transport and communications links for the South West.

“I believe that real decision-making powers should be given to local councils with funding to maintain and improve public services.

“When I’m out on the streets, I hear the country needs change. That’s why I got into politics because I believe UKIP is the only party that offers real change.”
