Five people are standing for the Tiverton and Honiton constituency in the General Election on Thursday, May 7...
Stephen Kearney (Lib Dem) is a family man with five children, Stephen and his wife live in Dartmouth.
He has a background in agriculture and is committed to rural development.
“Our political system does not work, so I intend to set up a pioneering approach in Devon,” he said. “I will engage 200 local people to inform all the work of the MPs office. These people will listen in the community and shape policy for the area. They will also hold me and all our councillors and officers in the local authority to account.
“My career has prepared me to lead an initiative like this. I’m a founder of the UK Youth Parliament and the strategist behind the Cabinet Office’s Community Organising Programme. I am a co-founder and CEO of an international social action charity (25 years).
“It’s time to work together at every level to reclaim our communities and democracy by building on the positive – pioneering a new beginning.”
