Honiton Community College take on their own scrapheap challenge to build a hydro-electirc power station.

GIFTED students from Honiton Community College were putting their scientific know-how to the test using an old bath in their own scrapheap challenge.

The students led by science and technology teachers and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) ambassadors set to work to try and create their own working model of a hydro electric power station.

As part of the project they visited a micro generating plant in Tipton St John where the students were able to carry out measurements and observations to help them with their own model.

After various calculations the students were able to create their own unique power station using an old bath and a bicycle generator.
