Lifeboat and helicopter launched after bather reported being swept out to sea at Seaton
Rescue services were scrambled after reports of a swimmer in difficulties off Seaton last night (Wednesday).
The Coastguard helicopter and the rescue team from Beer were called to the scene along with Sidmouth inshore lifeboat, at around 6pm.
It followed a 999 call reporting a swimmer being swept out to sea.
The person made shore safely whilst units were being tasked and Beer Coastguard unit attended to collect details.
