I am writing to complain about the lack of bin collections along Seaton seafront during the summer. We claim we are a seaside town wanting to attract visitors, yet these photos do nothing to back that up! They were taken at about 7.15pm last Sunday, but it is the same after every sunny day in the summer - seafront litter bins overflowing with rubbish and visitors forced to put their rubbish on the ground. Not only does this look terrible but it is extremely unhygienic (and potentially dangerous with glass items) and is the main attraction for seagulls and other animals, which spread the rubbish even further afield. When will the council admit that they need to increase bin-emptying during the summer along the seafront which attracts so many people? Visitors and residents alike spend their money on food and drink in the town, but the council refuses to accept that this inevitably leads to more rubbish needing collection. The result gives out a terrible message to the hundreds of people who walk along our promenade at the end of a summer's day! Anita Urquhart Alleyn Court Seaton
