Open windows a serious risk to children warns Clippasafe.
National Child Safety Week (June 20 to 26) aims to empower families to take positive action to improve safety in their homes.
In bid to reduce the number of accidental, which currently lead to 45 under-fives being admitted to hospital every day.
Approximately 4,000 children are involved in accidents from windows each year.
Child safety specialist Clippasafe is reminding parents to be aware of risks posed by open windows.
Roger Cheetham, Clippasafe’s managing director, advises: “Whenever possible, open a window at the top, not the bottom, and keep furniture away from the window - to stop children climbing up.
“It is best to fit child locks to any windows, to prevent little ones from opening them more than a couple of inches.
