More than 80 people enjoyed a glitzy fundraising ball which was put on by a Honiton family.

Mum-of-two Fran Keen put on the special event on Saturday, March 12, at the Deer Park Hotel, to raise money for the Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, a charity which organises and funds weddings for terminally ill people.

In all, the ball raised £2,000 for the organisation, and such was its success, Fran is already in the process of planning a similar event next year.

“It went amazingly well,” Fran said. “People enjoyed posing with a Porsche and Aston Martin outside the hotel, and we had a photo booth and casino indoors.

“We also had an amazing auction, with the Graham Barton from Homes Under the Hammer as our auctioneer.”

Fran opted to support the Wedding Wishing Well Foundation because she lost her dad to cancer 13 years ago.

One of her daughter’s school friends also lost his mum to cancer last year. They were able to get married before she lost her life, thanks to the charity.
