Seaton woman dials 999 to report vessel in danger of breaking apart
Emergency services were scrambled after an alarm call from a Seaton woman yesterday evening(Saturday).
She dialled 999 to tell Portland Coastguards she had seen a small fishing vessel on the beach, close to the water’s edge, with waves breaking over the stern.
Beer Coastguard rescue officers were tasked to investigate.
On arrival they found nothing untoward but were able to identify the boat and contact the owner. They then assisted with hauling the boat further up the beach to a safer place out of the breaking waves.
