Lyme lifeboat and Beer coastguards called to Seaton after reports of someone struggling to stay afloat

Lyme Regis lifeboat was launched yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) after fears that a person was in difficulty in the sea off Seaton beach

A woman called 999 to report what she thought was a swimmer in peril.

Beer Coastguard rescue team also raced to the scene but after an intensive search of the area, nothing untoward was found and no further action taken.
