The popular Festival of Imagination will be returning to The Beehive, in Honiton, next month – and this time takes the theme of ‘structure’.

The festival will kick off with a series of illustrated talks for adults on Friday, April 22, from 10am – focusing on topics such as architecture, cookery, astronomy and theatre. The talks are free, but donations are appreciated.

On Friday evening, the film The Merchant of Venice will be shown, from 7.30pm. A variety of activities will be taking place on Saturday, April 23, including model-making and science for children, ‘pop-up performances’ from Honiton Youth Orchestra and East Devon Dance Academy, and short talks for adults, including ‘Oliver Cromwell’s ointments for warts and pimples’, ‘Raindrops to super storms’ and ‘Structure in Shakespeare’s sonnets and plays’ and ‘Structural engineering: Arches and bridges’. In the evening, a family show will be held called When Magic and Science Collide – starting at 7pm. Tickets are available from The Beehive.

There will also be the chance for youngsters to showcase their talents in a children’s photographic competition, which is open to all. Find out more by visiting Honiton Library or The Beehive.

Activities based on the theme of structure are also being held at Honiton Glen on the morning of Saturday, April 16, from 10am to noon.
