Almost £140 has been raised for Cancer Research after the proceeds of Honiton Community College’s annual senior citizen Christmas dinner was totted up.

The seniors enjoyed a three-course turkey dinner, served up by college students and staff, and were treated to a great show from talented music students.

They also took part in a group sing-along of seasonal songs.

After the dinner prepared by the college kitchen, a raffle was held which raised the money for Cancer Research, the college’s chosen charity.

Matt Burrell, director of finance and resources at the college said: “A really good time was had by all and we would like to thank everyone involved with the event.

“We could not do this without the generous support of local businesses and individuals who kindly donated money, raffle prizes and gave up their time - so thanks to you all!”
