Charmouth amongst ten crews called to help save thatched cottage

SOME 50 firefighters fought to save a thatched cottage in West Dorset yesterday (Sunday).

Ten crews, including Charmouth, were called the blaze at Littlebredy.

The fire affected the roof of two semi detached properties and is believed to have started in the chimney.

Two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the blaze, which happened at around 4.15pm.

No one was hurt in the fire but the building was severely damaged.
