Crews from Axminster and Chard tackle the blaze at a two-storey property
Firefighters from Axminster and Chard tackled a blaze in a bin store adjoining a two-storey property in Dyke Hill, Perry Street, at around 7am today (Tuesday, January 23).
The fire involved a shop on the ground floor with accommodation above.
The contents of the store were destroyed by the fire. There was also slight fire and smoke damage to the shop and accommodation.
The fire was extinguished using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a positive pressure ventilation fan and thermal image camera.
