Fire crews were called out yesterday (Thursday, June 22) to deal with a fire in Honiton.

Appliances from Honiton and Ottery St Mary attended the incident, in School Lane, at around 4.40pm.

On arrival crews found a small fire on the fibreglass flat roof of the property.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used one scotty pack, dry powder extinguisher and buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

“They then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the roof was safe.”
