FIREFIGHTERS in Colyton will be getting in a lather as part of National Car Wash Day.
FIREFIGHTERS in Colyton will be getting in a lather as part of National Car Wash Day.
The crew will be fundraising for The Fire Fighters Charity, the official organisation for injured firefighters and their families during times of need.
Visitors can have their cars shampooed and polished, while learning more about the potential dangers of fire in the home.
Firefighter Tracy Bigwood said: "Despite our best efforts, we have seen first hand how fire can destroy lives and devastate communities. By learning more about safety around the home, lives can be saved.
"The other reason is to raise essential funds for The Fire Fighters Charity in order that they may continue to support those in need.
"The fire services are extremely well trained and well-respected in the UK. However, accidents do happen - with injury and even death potentially around the next corner. The charity is here to support these injured firefighters when they need support, helping them get back to work as soon as possible."
The event will run from 9am to 1pm at Colyton fire station, on Saturday, September 19.
