‘Firefighters’ set a hot pace at Axminster sports day

‘Glorious’ was how organisers described the weather for the event which was well supported by family and friends.

Competition was as hot as ever when Axminster Community Primary Academy held its annual sports day on Thursday (July 25).

‘Glorious’ was how organisers described the weather for the event which was well supported by family and friends.

The spectators were entertained by a variety of races including egg and spoon, novelty ladders, let’s get cooking race, woggle race and the famous emergency procedures relay which involved year six children dressing up as firefighters.

The organisers thanked everyone who helped, with special praise for the Axminster firefighters who gave up their time for the school.
