THE Bay Hotel has become the first hotel and restaurant in Lyme Regis to join the police radio-link scheme.

The hotel, which has views across Marine Parade and on the beach, has become the 21st radio link member.

PCSO Martin Case of the Lyme Regis Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Radios are now being used more regularly than ever before as staff from various businesses across the town become more familiar and confident in using their radios.

"The scheme has led to the detection of many crimes in the town centre and has most recently assisted police in arresting a male for the theft of a wallet."

Any business interested in joining the scheme for a small monthly fee can contact PCSO 5391 Martin Case at the station on 07500 816312.
