The first residents of a new large-scale housing development in Honiton will move in next Spring.

Baker Estates has teamed up with Sovereign to deliver the first significant number of affordable new homes in the town for more than a decade.

The total payments that will be made to the community for education, highway improvements, public open space and play areas as a result of the development amounts to £1,562,000. Ian Baker, managing director of Baker Estates, said: “Not only is our development providing much needed affordable homes in Gittisham, the development as a whole, will also create inward investment including jobs for local people. We are delighted to have started this exciting partnership with Sovereign and look forward to working with them over the coming years.”

These properties will be a mix of one and two bedroomed apartments and two and three bedroomed houses.
