Flood warning for River Yarty

The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the River Yarty today (Wednesday) following heavy rainfall overnight.

The river runs from Yarcombe through to Axminster.

On its website the EA said: “River levels are continuing to rise following the band of heavy showers experienced overnight The rain is likely to clear the area this morning. Catchments are saturated and responsive to further rainfall.

“Flooding is likely to affect properties close the river. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message if the situation changes.”

The agency has not issued any flood alerts for the River Sid, Otter or Budleigh Brook.
