FLOODS caused chaos in Honiton and the Axe Valley over the weekend, with roads closures and people rescued from vehicles.

FLOODS caused chaos in Honiton and the Axe Valley over the weekend, with roads closures and people rescued from vehicles.Houses at Weycroft, Axminster, were flooded with five inches of water; roads were blocked in Stockland and Yarcombe, and road closures were put in place in Axminster.Firefighters rescued numerous drivers and passengers from their vehicles as they got stuck in flood water.One man was rescued from his vehicle after he left the highway and got stuck in a water filled ditch on the A30, near Monkton. At 4.35am on Saturday (December 13) two fire engines from Honiton attended. The man was uninjured.At 6am another vehicle ended up in a ditch after aquaplaning on the A30.Later at 7.26am two women and a man were rescued from a vehicle stuck in floodwater at the bottom of Gammons Hill, Kilmington.A man was reported stuck in a car at Tytherleigh at 11.31am and another man was taken to safety by firefighters on the Musbury road to Colyton at 1.12pm.
