Lyme Regis Coastguards go to the aid of two people thought to be in danger
Fossil hunters have been risking their lives digging beneath unstable cliffs at Lyme Regis.
Coastguards received a 999 call yesterday morning (Thursday)
reporting two people possibly cut off by the tide at Monmouth Beach. Lyme Regis coastguard rescue officers were tasked to investigate.
They found that several people had ignored all the safety advice and were hunting for fossils amongst the recent land slips on the beach. However, nobody appeared to have got into difficulties this time.
