DEVON County Council has been awarded the maximum four-star rating for its performance by the Audit Commission.
DEVON County Council has been awarded the maximum four-star rating for its performance by the Audit Commission.And Seaton has benefitted from a local project-enabling fund managed by the East Devon County Committee - which has funded 26 projects totalling �27,000 in the three years since it was created.The money, which does not take account of the �25,000 Community Fund from the sale of Exeter Airport, has helped organisations such as Age Concern in Seaton and TRIP Community Transport Association.County councillor for the Seaton Coastal constituency Margaret Rogers said: "This is a fitting tribute to the leadership of the council and of all the hard work put in by the staff of the Council in delivering the wide range of services provided."She added that all funding decisions were a matter of public record and impacted positively on local groups and communities that received the money.She said: "For many projects, the allocation acts as a magnet to draw in other match funding, for others it can make the difference in whether or not a project actually happens.
