LED Leisure Management is working in conjunction with Age UK Devon, Active Devon and East Devon District Council to offer the events.
Free activity taster sessions are being made available to people over 50 years old thanks to a joint venture – starting in Honiton.
LED Leisure Management is working in conjunction with Age UK Devon, Active Devon and East Devon District Council to offer the events. Using funding provided through Active Devon’s opportunity club fund, Honiton Leisure Centre will be hosting a range of free activity taster sessions, fitness MOTs and health advice on Sunday, November 1, between 10am and 3pm.
There will be qualified instructors, health professionals and a market place with a number of partners with activity information throughout the event and all equipment will be provided.
If the taster session is well supported, a weekly over 50s multi-sport activity session will start at Honiton Leisure Centre.
Trish Warren, community activities manager for Age UK Devon, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our over 50s community in East Devon to come along and try a new activity or sport. Whether you are 51 or 101, there is something for everybody, including activities for those living with physical or mental health issues, disabilities, or who are visually or hearing impaired.”
