Leisure East Devon (LED) has announced that on 1 February, all over-60s may swim for free at Honiton Swimming and Leisure Centre during timetabled public swims. This is part of LED's 'swim 4 free' programme in which various Sundays throughout 2009 will be set aside to provide free swimming to groups in the community whether it be seniors, children, mums, dads or open to all. There is no need to book and people may simply turn up on the day."LED is committed to encouraging as many people as possible to enjoy the health and fitness benefits that swimming can bring," said David Pagett, Chief Executive of LED. "Our free swims for children were incredibly popular in December and January, and we're hoping that just as many older people turn out to take a dip on February 1. We've got another children's session coming up in March, as well as a day dedicated to Mums and many more throughout the year."For full information on all the free swim dates throughout the year, visit www.ledleisure.co.uk.LED is a charitable trust that operates leisure centres, parks and the Exmouth Pavilion. It employs more than 300 staff at 13 facilities.
