Free training for teachers
Offwell Woodland and Wildlife Trust is holding a series of free environmental education teacher training days next month.
Offwell Woodland and Wildlife Trust is holding a series of free environmental education teacher training days next month.
The sessions will take place at the Woodland Education Centre, near Offwell.
National curriculum studies at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be covered, along with AS and A2 levels.
Topics covered will include the importance of hands-on outdoor field trips for children, health and safety requirements for field trips and detailed ideas for teaching woodland, heathland and freshwater ecology whilst in the field.
The training days are suitable for teachers at all levels including newly qualified teachers, classroom assistants and Scout/Guide group leaders.
The free training days are being funded by East Devon District Council through its NEAG scheme.
