The new owner of a Honiton fast fit centre is promising free winter car checks to all motorists in the town, after defying the credit crunch to purchase the store from tyre retailing giants HiQ.Gary Thomson, aged 40, has purchased the HiQ centre in King Street with business partner Julian Helyer and is immediately promising to give drivers a Christmas car check. And despite talk of a nationwide economic crisis, Mr Thomson said the time had never been better to buy.He said: "As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a credit crunch. I am so excited to take on the Honiton centre, and I can see no reason why business will not be great."Obviously we are in the midst of some tough financial times, but I don't think that will stop this franchise being a resounding success on a number of levels. HiQ's national franchise programme aims to accelerate the growth of the nationwide tyre and vehicle servicing network by signing long-term franchise agreements for all the parent-company owned HiQ stores in England and Wales, extending the highly successful model that currently operates in some parts of the UK. HiQ's free comprehensive eight point winter health check covers tyres, batteries, windscreens, lights, engines, exhausts, horns and fan belts. For more information about the free car checks call HiQ Honiton on 01404 43204.
