Rescue officers fail to locate the cause of loud bangs in the Seaton area

Coastguards were scrambled after a 999 call reported flares and loud bangs in the Seaton area on Thursday afternoon (March 28).

Beer coastguard rescue officers were tasked to meet with the informant and ascertain the direction that the sound was heard.

After investigating and contacting Devon and Cornwall police and the military, and searching the local area, no other reports were received and the incident was closed.
