Offwell Village Fete makes a welcome return.

Offwell Village Fete made a welcome return after a four-year absence and was a well attended occasion.

There were plenty of fun activities on offer for all the family, including a tractor run, a children’s fancy dress competition, displays and plenty of stalls for visitors to browse around.

The event is run by the village charity and proceeds will be shared with Offwell CoE Primary School and Offwell Rural Services Association, who are responsible for running the village shop.

Local residents turned out in force to demonstrate their creative skills in a scarecrow competition - attracting 16 colourful entries, which were judged by Midweek Herald reports Katy Griffin and Callum Lawton.

First prize went to Karen Hayes with her scuba inspired scarecrow followed by B and B Hallows in second and Hattie and Becky Taviner in third place with their magician scarecrow.
