Honiton Primary School takes learning outdoors.
Pupils at Honiton Primary School went wild in the woodlands as part of a new outdoor learning initiative.
The children in year 1 have been taking part in weekly forest school sessions where they learn to take risks in a safe environment.
Emma Byrnes, of the Really Wild Forest School, runs the sessions every week, which are designed to complement the school curriculum.
This half-term the children’s activities have been following the story of The Snail and the Whale and pupils have written poems, made spiral art and had a treasure hunt to find the adjectives from the story which are scattered in the school’s woodland.
The woodland haven also boasts its own fairy corner and has a tyre swing.
