TRINITY Hill common and nature reserve near Axminster is to benefit from new funding.
The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is to be included in the Environmental Stewardship scheme, administered by Natural England.
The new funding arrangement will provide an annual payment of �4,934 for the next ten years, as well as one-off grant of �3,734 for capital works.
Barry Lockton, Natural England adviser for East Devon, said: "We are pleased to be able to support the enhancement of lowland heath habitats on the reserve, creating conditions that are suitable for a wide range of flora and fauna.
"Beneficiaries will be birds like Stonechat, Nightjar and Dartford Warbler, butterflies such as Brimstone and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary as well as many species of moth.
"In addition, as site conditions improve, better access will allow visitors to derive maximum enjoyment from this wonderful place.
