TWO recent fundraising events realised a total of £861 towards work to refurbish Honiton Methodist Church.

A tabletop sale, held in the Mackarness Hall, raised £481 and a strawberries and cream garden party raised £380.

Work at the church, in Chapel Street, is expected to be finished in time for September - the start of the Methodist year.

In the meantime, Sunday services are continuing at 10.30am in the nearby Senior Citizens' Centre.

Church members would like to thank all those who have supported the fundraising so far.
