The problem with garden sharing is lack of security for the plot holder, loss of privacy and, of course, a denial of the right to a piece of land under the Allotments Act.England is everyone's garden and those of us interested have a right to garden in it, and not just as evictable squatters. However well-intentioned the sharing scheme is, what happens if the owner moves, is ill, or sadly dies? As citizens we deserve better. Michael Parsons Larkfield LaneSouthport
