THE overall success of GCSEs at Honiton Community College was second only to last year's record-breaking results", the college revealed as students turned up to collect their all-important grades last Thursday.
THE overall success of GCSEs at Honiton Community College was "second only to last year's record-breaking results", the college revealed as students turned up to collect their all-important grades last Thursday.College principal Norman Tyson said results reflected the hard work put in by students, parents and teachers.The overall A* to C grade attainment was 60 per cent.Mr Tyson said students of all abilities had met with success."For some students, the results mark the outcome of three years work, having taken a GCSE course early in Year 9 and 10 and continuing to build upon this early success," he told the Herald."Congratulations are also offered to Jamie Donne-Davis and Louise Gocher, who have been recognised as among the top ten students nationally in the GCSE photography with Edexcel, the country's largest awarding body."For Mr Dormand, their teacher, this is the third year of outstanding success, with one student last year and three students the year before achieving similar success."As part of a college enrichment programme, some students sat GCSEs early, in Years 9 and 10. Subjects covered included English literature, photography, religious studies and politics.
