Honiton’s Christmas lights committee will be hosting a quiz night to boost funds for festive display.

The festive spirit was in full flow last week as efforts to boost funds for the Honiton Christmas Lights Appeal continue.

Members of Go Festive, Honiton’s Christmas lights committee, were busy promoting and selling tickets for the appeal’s trolley dash at the Co-operative in Lace Walk.

The committee has teamed up with the Co-operative in Honiton to raffle off a trolley dash worth £200.

The lucky winner will have just 30 seconds to fill their trolley during the event on Saturday, September 27. Electrical items, alcohol and cigarettes are not included.

Go Festive is looking to raise in the region of £10,000 and already has £2,000 available for a Christmas lights display from Honiton Town Council and Lidl.

A Christmas lights appeal quiz is being held on Saturday (August 23), at Honiton Conservative Club, 7.30pm for 8pm, £2 per person. There will be a prize for the best dressed team.

Anyone interested in joining the committee, helping with fundraising, or donating raffle prizes is urged to call David Foster on 01404 45106 or email davidofhoniton@yahoo.co.uk

Trolley dash raffle tickets cost £1 and are available from Go Mobile in New Street. The committee will also be selling tickets on Saturday on a stall outside St Paul’s Church and during the quiz event.
