Following being named by the Alzheimer's Society as Dementia Friendly Rural Community of the Year 2016, Honiton Dementia Action Alliance is launching an Action on Dementia programme for 2017.

As part of this, people in Honiton are being urged to get off their couch to raise funds for those with dementia.

The alliance is urging people to take part in this year’s Couch to 5K Family Fun Run on Saturday, May 20, starting at 2pm from The Beehive, Honiton.

Anyone interested in taking part can register for the event through www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for Couch to 5K Family Fun Run Honiton Dementia Action Alliance.

Registration will cost £5.90 and any profits will go to Honiton Dementia Action Alliance and Honiton Memory Café.
