A SECTION of the River Gissage in Honiton is being used as a dumping ground.Disgusted residents in Ashleigh Road and Oaklea have noted a sharp increase in litter and say the area needs cleaning up.The river, which divides the two estates, off Dowell Street, is one of Honiton's hidden treasures but, increasingly, is being used by the lazy to dump unwanted goods - even supermarket trolleys."I've never seen it looking so full of rubbish," said Ashleigh Road resident Tony Simpson, who enjoys regular walks along the riverbank with his young grandchildren. He said they had commented on the proliferation in litter.A trolley, left dumped on the Oaklea side of the riverbank, has been filled with debris."Shopping bags are strewn along the banks and in the stream," said Mr Simpson.
