A COLYFORD woman celebrated her 105th birthday last Thursday.
A COLYFORD woman celebrated her 105th birthday last Thursday.Gladys McMahon, who lives at Elmwood residential home, was born in Chiswick and spent many years abroad with her late husband Noel - including Malta, North Africa and Cyprus.Noel died in 1972 and Gladys then went to live with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. In her earlier years, Gladys enjoyed playing tennis, hockey, golf, bridge and whist.She has been at Elmwood for nine years and fills her time with crosswords, puzzles and watching television - especially snooker, ice skating, tennis and golf.A spokesman for the home said: "A sense of humour is her recipe for reaching such a ripe old age. "But, most important of all, is having a kind and loving daughter.
