MOTORISTS in Honiton are being advised to follow a new one-way system at Lace Walk car park.Workmen have repainted direction lines and carried out other improvements - at a cost of around 3,000.East Devon District Council says the change was necessary, because of complaints.A spokesman told the Herald: "We received letters from car park users, from Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and from district councillor David Key, chairman of the corporate overview committee, complaining that the previous system forced drivers to manoeuvre across the flow of traffic coming in the opposite direction."We have, therefore, agreed to change the direction of flow into the car park and we are installing signage and a set of mechanical 'teeth' that allow cars to cross them in only one direction. "The total cost of the scheme is expected to be around 3,000.
