THROGMORTON Hall in Dunkeswell is the popular venue for the monthly 'God Cares' series - where ordinary people tell their extraordinary stories.
At the last meeting, Helen Williams, 30, told of her story in becoming a church warden.
She described how she was affected following the death of her father, and then the loss of her fianc in a motoring accident.
She said their loss made her question the nature of a God who could let such things happen to someone who was a 'follower'. She attended an Alpha Course, which is designed to help people who need answers, and continued her Christian journey.
Next month Paul & Bella Gregory will tell their story From New Age to New Life. It will take place on Sunday, May 30, at 3pm, at Throgmorton Hall, Dunkeswell.
