The Honiton Wine Bar Golf Society has handed over a cheque for more than £1,600 to Breast Cancer Now.

The money was raised through various fundraisers within the society.

Fines were also charged for various light-hearted misdemeanours on the golf course, such as a mobile phone ringing or making a call while enjoying a round of golf.

Breast Cancer Now was the chosen charity after the daughter of the society’s outgoing captain, John Dowling, died of cancer.

The society raised £1,651 for the cause.

This year, the society will be raising funds for a prostate cancer charity.
