Honiton man accepts cheque from son.

A CREAM tea and open garden event, held at the bed and breakfast home of recovering cancer victim Brian Godfrey, raised £810 for th eNnorth and East Devon Prostate Support Association.

Mr Godfre, vice chairman of the association, and his wife, Gill, own Manna House, in Exeter Road, Honiton, and welcomed dozens of guests to their garden during the event, which was opened by town crier Dave Retter.

Douglas Mounce, from BBC Radio Devon, was among those to attend, along with Jane Billings who is a specialist nurse at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

A poignant moment during the afternoon was when Brian’s son, Paul, handed over a cheque for £562 – raised in the Great Western Run.

Mr and Mrs Godfrey would like to thank all those who supported the event.
