REDUCED mowing of grass in public open spaces may not be a bad thing, town councillors have heard.
East Devon District Council wants to reduce the frequency of mowing along the River Gissage, Honiton Bottom Road, Weatherill Road, Lower Brand Lane, Linhay Close, Willow Walk play area, Yallop Way and Honiton Bottom Field.
Councillor Roy Coombs told a meeting of Honiton Town Council's policy committee that reduced mowing "could have benefits".
"It could encourage various types of moths and could be advantageous to wildlife," he said.
