OFFWELL Fundraising Group's annual Christmas pudding 'mix' will take place this week.Orders for the puddings, as well as Christmas cakes, are being taken on (01404) 831547. Call the number to arrange to drop off your pudding basin.Proceeds will go towards the upkeep of rescued horses at Wellington Farm, Wilmington, in memory of group founder Betty Stamp.The late Mrs Stamp enjoyed a cream tea at Wellington Farm on her 70th birthday. While she and other Offwell Fundraising Group members were there, they visited the horses.Ian, who runs the rescue centre, invited the group members to name a rescued pony, which had a smashed jaw and needed a lot of dental treatment.The pony was named Betsy, after Betty who was delighted. She was a great lover of horses.Over the years, Mrs Stamp made dozens of Christmas cakes, pickles and chutney. Proceeds of their sale benefited a large number of local organisations.
