Two roofs are said to have been blown off houses in East Devon and firefighters have been called to deal with flooding in Musbury Road, Axminster.
A 19-year-old Lyme Regis man had a lucky escape last night when part of a tree hit his car at Rousdon. The windscreen of his Starlet vehicle was smashed, but the youth sustained just a monir cut.

A resident in Queen's Walk, Lyme Regis, suffered a panic yesterday when she found wind had diverted pumped water from her fish pond onto the garden.
The two ft deep pond was empty, except for rain water, and a concerted effort was needed to save her fish.
