Archant

You don’t have to travel far in East Devon to see some lovely holiday destinations but Exmouth was hit by a freak storm last weekend.

A freak heavy hailstorm transformed Exmouth town centre on Saturday, April 9 to resemble a Winter Wonderland.

Shoppers ran for cover as the heavens opened around lunchtime.

The spectacle was however short-lived as the downpour lasted less than ten minutes and the resulting covering of ice soon disappeared.
