RE: Seaton protest fails to stop introduction of more parking charges.
Devon County Council set a headline-grabbing low Council Tax increase and then takes steps to increase revenue from us in stealth taxes such as on street parking charges.
Seaton needs every resident and visitor it can get to visit the town centre and esplanade.
Seaton is not a Sidmouth or an Exmouth - it is a town with businesses in dire need of help. There are already parking time limits on the streets in question, so this idea is strictly for raising revenue for the county council.
For a pound, one can park all day at the Holmbush and Charmouth Road car parks in Lyme Regis, where one can also park on the street free.
Visitors will go to Lyme instead of Seaton and spend their money there.

The county councillors should be ashamed of themselves and yet we're stuck with them for another four years, more's the pity.
