Three local youngsters win Gold Booktrack award

Axminster Library held a tea party to celebrate three children achieving Gold Booktrack awards.

The winners, pupils at St Mary’s RC School, were sisters Madeline and Ruby Hammett, aged eight and five, and Akein Nanayakkara, five.

They read and discussed 100 books to achieve the award and received a gold badge, certificate and goody bag, with vouchers for Archway Bookshop, Flamingo Pool and Pecorama.

Library supervisor Sarah Jones said it was a real achievement by the youngsters.
