SEATON residents have shown how tightly knit they are crafting over 5,500 little hats for Age Concern.

SEATON residents have shown how tightly knit they are - crafting over 5,500 little hats for Age Concern.Exceeding their target by 500, the hats are part of a nationwide challenge to dress the tops of 'Innocent' drinks' bottles - raising money for the charity.Age Concern volunteer Wendy Millett said: "I'm very happy with our achievement. We hope we have raised in excess of £2,000 - which means a lot to Age Concern."So many people have been involved in making so great a success of this venture and we want to thank them all - the knitters, the bobble-makers and those who donated knitting yarns."We are particularly grateful to the Seaton Hobby Shop for acting as a collection point for the little hats."The deadline for the hat collection is October 17. n Call in for a cuppa and company every Wednesday morning and 'Knit and Natter' every Thursday afternoon at Number One, Harepath Road.
