Concerned as I am regarding the spate of vandalism and thefts in Honiton recently, I am baffled by the need to detail exactly what sweets were taken from Sweets and Treats during the smash and grab raid. Is there a cryptic, hidden meaning behind the reference to banana and custard sweets, or are these just your personal favourites?Of course, if I am offered a selection of boiled sweets by a shady looking character, carrying a dog-eared suitcase and wearing a trilby hat in Lace Walk, I will, of course, taste the merchandise and report the matter to PC Davies accordingly.Paul HaywardBy email
